Maiko: Geisha in training; apprentice geisha. She's not quite there yet...
Didn't have a geisha/maiko reference photo with me whilst painting... so there will probably be inaccuracies... I had the 'Memoirs of a Geisha' poster in my mind as inspiration whilst I worked on this.
I took just under 2hrs for this piece. Once again, brush tool, photoshop CS2. 27/05/08

WAOW *A* SO BEAUTIFUL! The details in this is really well done, especially in her eyes and lips! Hmm maybe you could even add a tiny bit more shine in her hair... just to add a tad more light to the picture, mainly cos I think this photo has a lot of life and emotion to it... I think adding a bit of shine could add even more life, maybe. *_* Not too much (too much becomes more 'glamorous', just a tad more... but then, if you've got "Memoirs of a Geisha" i mind, then I'd say you're not think about making it look 'glamorous', amiright? XD;; <--[k that made no sense AHAHA]
Ahaha the blabberings of an old momma hen. Ah well. Great piece anyway~~

that's just AWESOME, Feng! Realism seems to come so easy for you, I'm jealous D: !!! I love the depth you've managed to create in her facial features- especially the eyes. This is seriously lovely, but I also agree with Rea- maybe add just a FEW random stronger highlights in the hair. Keep up the good work!
